Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

winter

But it is getting warmer inside!Insulation

(Apologies in advance for the fuzzy photos, my dad was kind enough to send them along.)

We were finally able to get the batting up and insulate the house! This is was all being held up thanks to this little beauty below, my wood stoves chimney. There was a bit of an oops when the wrong size was purchased and we had to do some swapping out for the larger flue size. I have learned quite a bit about patience in this whole journey as things do not always go as you image or as quickly as you wish. chimney

The wood stove flue and chimney needed to be installed in the rafters before we could complete the ceiling batting and move forward on dry wall.  As you can see the house is almost completely insulated and the dry wall has been moved inside to protect it from the elements. Hopefully the guys will be able to get it installed over the next few days.

And another little bump in the road happened;  I found out the wood stove will not fit in the original location (corner of the living room) so it will now be more central in the kitchen and living room space. Not sure yet how I feel about the change but I will make it work! sheet rock

A propane generator was also secured in the last week for a wheel of a deal! Scored for at a fraction of retail cost due to some unfortunate circumstances the previous owners were having with city ordinances and propane tanks. So grateful for the continued blessings God is pouring out to make all of these dreams possible.

And last but not least another awesome addition was my propane water heater. Phew! These guys have been moving and shaking trying to get as much done as possible before the weather really takes a turn for the worse. I am so blessed by their continued help and knowledge.

The to do list is getting shorter! Sheetrock, mud and tape, painting, flooring, staining, kitchen cabinet and counter top purchase and install, Light switch covers and light fixtures, septic install, solar system purchase and install, tile and grout for kitchen and wood stove base and I believe I am ready for move in! WOOHOO – If you can not tell I am pumped!

To wrap up this post I wanted to let you know I am making an ask for my birthday. It took a little self debate but my birthday is in less than two weeks and I decided to create a go fund me page. I am sorry if you feel this is tacky, you do not have to help financial in any way if you do not with but I hope to be in your prayers either way- Here is the link if you wish to show your support- Birthday Gift for finalizing my home. Any money raised will go toward flooring and then any residual will go toward the septic and solar systems.

I hope to be able to paint the sheet rock and install flooring before January ends but currently finances are tight so slow and steady will win the race. I know even if the birthday link does not pan out God will provide. I have given it all to him and I will not fear. I leave you with this:

Isaiah 41: 10  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Have a blessed day!
