If you missed the buttoning up of the cabin check in on last weeks post Siding Installed. This week I am talking about some inside touches.
During a moment of boredom I ran across this beautiful accent wall on Pinterest. One of the storage sheds on the property had some brand new oak tongue and groove boards tucked away so this seemed like a fairly affordable project that would add some interest to my house.
My mom and I spent two weekends in a row on these boards to give them the right effect that would look somewhat old and weathered as well as staining it to get just the right shades of teal, aqua and green.

I was a little worried we were going a little to heavy with the teal so in the second and third coats my mom began to incorporate a white chalk paint to create a more rustic and lighter appearance. I can not wait to get the sheet rock up so these can be installed in my bedroom as an accent wall!
While working on the property I am staying in the Love Shack! Check back in next week to hear all about this cozy little space I call home on the weekends while the property is under a face lift.
