Last week was the electrical walk through with my dad. If you missed that post you can view it at Let there be light!
Contractor Mike and his friend Herb stopped back by to get the house closed in and reapply the siding. I hope they are also able to complete the closet wall soon! Fall is in full bloom here as you can see in the photos below and Winter is hot on her heels!
Once most of the siding was complete they also put the bedroom side door in (check out this redneck deadbolt!). This door was gifted to me by a neighbor who purchased it at a second hand store and never installed it in her own home. Unfortunately with the floors as high as they are and the ceilings as low as it is in the bedroom some of the door will have to be cut off to fit into this opening. But all in all for a free door I don’t think I could have asked for anything better! I look forward to sanding it down and painting it a fun bright pastel come spring.
Also check out the view from the hillside above! A nice little deer trail took me up to this perfect little look out of the homestead below. And don’t forget to check back in next week for Cozy Cabin Accents where I will be antiquing the excess pine tongue and groove to create an accent wall in the bedroom.
